Eco-friendly Management of Black Rot of Tomato (Aspergillus niger) by Using of Plant Extracts and Bio-agents

Abstract

Bio-efficacy of nine phytoextracts at 5 and 10 per cent was tested against Aspergillus niger in in vitro. Among them significantly lowest mycelial growth of A. niger was recorded in neem leaf extract showing 61.66 & 89.49% growth inhibition followed by 59.23 & 87.79% in tulsi leaf extract 53.34 & 84.74% in garlic cloves extract at 5 and 10 per cent concentration, respectively. The Trichoderma species and P. fluorescens inhibited the growth of A. niger effectively. Among these antagonists, Trichoderma harzianum showed maximum inhibition (86.00%) followed by P. fluorescens (85.60%).
