The present study was carried out during 2008–09 in Rabi season at Students Instructional Farm of N.D.U.A.&T., Kumarganj, Faizabad in order to study the effect of gibberellic acid viz. 0, 20, 40 and 80 ppm and sulphur @ 0, 10, 20 and 40 kg/ha on physic-chemical quality of onion bulbs variety Pusa Red. The maximum anthocyanin 9.72 mg/100g, ascorbic acid 12.85 mg/100g, total phenol 187.49 mg/100g, total sugar 5.52%, ally propyl disulphide 6.49 mg/100g and TSS 11.93% were recorded with the application of gibberellic acid @ 80 ppmrecorded with the application of 40 kg S/ha. While the minimum was recorded in control. The highest sugar 5.61% was recorded in control. In general application of gibberellic acid and basal application of sulphur improved the physico-chemical character in onion bulbs.
