Abstract

The present study was carried on Alternaria blight (A. porri) of garlic on the plant age susceptibility. The data on incidence ofpurple blotch at different crop stages showed that maximum incidence was recorded at bulb formation stage in the genotype G 41 (76.75%) while minimum (1.51%) at leaf extension stage in the genotype HG-17. Apparent infection rate (r/unit/day) was between leaf extension to scale leaf initiation stage 0.024 and 0.033 between scale leaf initiations to bulb formation stage.
