Maturation studies carried out on Nemipterus japonicus samples collected from commercial landings from March-2009 to February-2010 showed the male: female ratio was 1:0.90 and revealed by ova-diameter polygon, spawning occurrence from September to May with a peak in between September toNovember. This also supported by higher values of GIS and relative condition factor during these months fecundity varied from 10,472 to 65,225 eggs. The minimum size at sexual maturity was at 165 mm and 175 mm (TL) male and female respectively. The logarithm relationships between fecundity, total length, body weight and ovary weight have also beencalculated.
