Ten F1’s derived from diallel crosses along with 10 F2’s and five parents were evaluated in a Complete Randomized Design with three replications. Data were recorded on 10 yield and component traits. Analysis of genetic variance, suggested that dominant alleles were more frequent than recessive ones for most of the traits. Asymmetrical distribution of positive andnegative alleles among the parents was observed for all the characters. Predominance of additive and non-additive gene action was observed for the inheritance of most of the traits.
