Abstract

A field experiment was conducted to evaluate and characterize the available improved land races in Urdbean at CRC of the GBPUA & T, Pantnagar during Zaid – 99 and Kharif – 99 comprised of 18 improved land races collected from diversity rich zones of Uttar Pradesh and from NBPGR, New Delhi. The study highlighted wide range of variability for various quantitative and visual characters. A strong positive correlation was observed with braches per plant, pods per plant and seeds per pod. The genotypes Sh. U-9503, Sh U-9518, PLU – 289, PU19, PU-35 and NU-1 were found immune to both yellow mosaic and leaf crinkle diseases.
