Abstract

Being the remotest region of India, Arunachal Pradesh is still untouched by the researchers. However, studies are available for whole North-East India but that does not focussed on the state exclusively. Biotechnology is the emerging branch of biology that should be utilized for designing the appropriate approaches as per the available resources to maintain and conserve the biodiversity of the state. An integrated approach via participation of local population and their indigenous knowledge along with modern methods should be utilized for management and success of the research programmes. By re-discovering the state using modern methods, Arunachal Pradesh may be a key player in revenue generation in the upcoming decade.
