The correlation coefficient analysis among twelve quantitative yield contributing traits with their path effects were investigated in linseed during Rabi 2011–12 at Genetics & Plant Breeding research farm of NDUA&T Kumarganj Faizabad. The mean squares dueto blocks were nonsignificant for all the characters except days to maturity and seed yield per plant which are highly significant, while the variation among the check varieties were highly significant for all the characters. The seed yield per plant (g) was showed very strong positive association with number of capsules per plant, harvest index, number of secondary branches per plant, plant height and number of primary branches per plant. Path coefficient analysis revealed that harvest index followedby biological yield per plant and plant height emerged as most important indirect yield components. The characters identified above may be considering in formulating selection strategy in linseed for developing high yielding varieties.
