The present investigation biochemical and physical evaluation of chickpea seeds was carried out in the laboratory of Department of Biochemistry, N.D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad during the year 2011–12. Physical characteristics of chickpea analysis revealed that highest test weight (33.30 g) was found in variety Kak-2 and maximum volume expansion percentage was found 164.67 per cent in variety NDGK-98-8. Biochemical data shown that maximum carbohydrate (66.82%), reducing sugar content (5.22%) and total sugar content (8.11%) are found in the variety BG-1053. The non reducing sugar content (3.68) maximum reported in the variety GCP-105.
