Abstract

Field investigation was carried out during rabi and kharif seasons of 2012 and 2013 at Bhavanisagar and Wetland, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore respectively tofind out the performance of pre-emergence herbicide on weeds and plant growth attributes of black gramvariety (CO 6)under irrigated situation. Result showed that application of pendimethalin at 1 kg a.i. ha−1 lowest weed density, weed dry weight and highest weed control efficiency which was significantly superior over rest of the treatments. The results revealed that the pre-emergence application of pendimethalin at 1 kg a.i. ha−1 influenced the growth characters of blackgram.
