Abstract

A field study was undertaken at Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat, during summer 2012 to investigate the bio- efficacy of different insecticides along with control and their effect on yield and economics of mungbean. The results revealed that seed yield kg/ha varied significantly among different insecticides. Two sprays of imidacloprid 17.8 SL was found to be most effective against whitefly, jassid and thrips, while profenofos 50EC recorded the lowest pod damage (15.74%) by gram pod borer. The highest seed yield (924kg/ha) and cost benefit ratio of 1:8.14 was obtained with treatment of profenofos 50 EC.
