The study on loss assessment due to powdery mildew of chilli was conducted during kharif, 2011 and 2012. One to four fungicidal sprays of Penconazole (0.1%) were given in order to create differential disease gradience and to estimate the loss due to the disease. The results of the experiments from both the years clearly indicated that three fungicidal sprays are sufficient enough to lower the disease index. Maximum yields were obtained from the plots sprayed three to four times, which were attributed to the lower disease index. The lower disease index with increased dry chilli yield and maximum BCR was recorded in plots receiving three sprays of Penconazole. Yield loss of 42.82 per cent was noticed due to powdery mildew in unsprayed plots. Yield loss models were developed using PDI as input variable and are, Y = 9.75 – 0.06 PDI with r = 0.95 (kharif, 2011) and Y = 12.10 – 0.025 PDI withr = 0.97 (kharif, 2012)
