Five isolates of Phomopsis vexans from five different cultivars of eggplant collected from three different districts of West Bengal which were show different response in order to utilize different form of carbon and nitrogen sources. Among three different carbon sources, monosaccharide and disaccharide form found best. Nitrate form among nitrogen sources was most effective to support growth.
