12 powdery mildew susceptible and 8 resistant genotypes of mungbean were Crossed in line x tester fashion to obtain 96 cross combinations. Observations were recorded on the number of buds emasculated, pollinated, pod initiated and matured pods harvested during three different periods i.e. September 1–10, September 25- October 4 and October 5–14. Pod setting was the highest (56%) during October 5–14 followed by September 25- October 4 (42%) and being the lowest (28%) during September 1–10. High percent of crossability was due to low temperature (∼23°C) followed by low humidity in the evening (53.2) and comparatively enhanced sunshine (>8.5 hours).
