Effect of Phytoextracts and Biocontrol Agents on Growth of Fusarium solani Causing Root Rot Of Brinjal

Abstract

Brinjal (Solanum melongena L.) an important vegetable crop severely affected by root rot (Fusarium solani) in Junagadh district. The affords were made to manage the disease sing phytoextracts and biocontrol agents. The maximum mean inhibition was obtained in ginger rhizomes extract (51.41%) which followed by turmeric rhizomes extract (47.83%) and jatropha leaf extract (47.75%). Ten per cent extracts of ginger rhizomes, turmeric rhizomes, and jatropha leaves were highly effective and gave 55.25, 55.00 and 53.50 per cent growth inhibition, Maximum reduction of pathogen (65.68%) was observed in the presences of T. viride -III followed by T. viride- I (62.83%), respectively.
