Variation in the extent of vase life existed among the chemical preservatives. The maximum vase life (12.89 days) of rose cut flowers was observed in the preservative solution containing aluminium sulphate at 300 ppm. Aluminium sulphate at 300ppm concentration showed maximum solution uptake (8.83 g/flower), solution loss of cut roses(9.07 g/flower) and gained more fresh weight (8.64 g/flower) at 12th day while minimum solution uptake, solution loss of cut roses and gained fresh weight was in control.
