Main gene effects and epistatic gene effects were estimated for yield and its components in three crosses of linseed by partitioning the generation means. The experimental material comprised of five parents namely Kiran, R-552, LCK-88062, EC-1645 and EC-1386 and their F1 and F2 generations of three different crosses namely Kiran × EC-1424 (C1), R-552 × EC-1386 (C2) and LCK-88062 × EC-1386 (C3). The hybrids F1 and F2 were evaluated along with their parents in randomized complete block design with three replications. The observations were recorded for aforesaid. The analysis revealed that relative comparison of main gene effect showed major contribution of dominance effect associated with dominance × dominance type of interaction effects in the expression of all the characters in the crosses. Duplicate type of epistatis played a major role in the expressionof most of the characters studied in the crosses.
