Polyphenol Oxidase (PPO) is an antioxidant enzyme which play very important role in seed germination and in tolerance to environmental stress. In this experiment, PPO activity was determinedin bioprimed, hydroprimed and non-primed seeds of CORH 4 rice hybrid and its parental lines (COMS 23A and CB174 R) during 0h, 12h, 24h, 36h and 48h of germination period. The PPO activity was increased in bioprimed seeds irrespective of cultivars comparing to controls. The highest increase in PPO activity was observed in CB174 R.
