Fifty interspecific hybrids synthesized in a line x tester fashion were evaluated for the extent of heterosis for 15 different traits. The range for per se performance, heterobeltiosis and standard heterosis exhibited by these crosses was wide indicating the diverse nature of parents. Based on these three parameters, the crosses GJHV 97/6/2 x TNB 26, SVPR 4 x SUVIN, SVPR 3 x SUVIN, GJHV 97/6/2 x SUVIN and SVPR 4 x TNB 26 were adjudged as heterotic and hence can be exploited for future breeding programs.
