The investigation was conducted at glasshouse of the department of Entomology IGKV Raipur (C.G.) during kharif and rabi seasons, 2011–2012. Different plant derivatives viz., Neem (Azadirachta indica), Mahua (Madhucea logifolia Machor.), Karanj (Pongamia glabra L.), Linseed (Linumu sitatissimum L.), Ratanjyot (Jatropha curcas), Lemon grass (Cymbopogon marginatus), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus spp.), Castor (Ricinuscommunis) each as 2 per cent oil and Neem cake extract @ 5 per cent tested against BPH Nilaparvata lugens (Stal.) in laboratory condition. The impact of different plant derivatives as oils and cake sprayed on seven days old plant seedlings against BPH for its probe marks study has depicted, the karanj oil treatment receiving the highest average probe marks per seedling BPH (41.75) as compared to other treatment. Karanj oil treatment had received 3.71 times increased probe marks by BPH over the control.
