Genetic divergence of one hundred and twenty five lines was studied through Mohalanobis's D2 and canonical root analysis for thirty characters. Genotypes were grouped into four different clusters having two multigenotypic and two monogenotypic clusters. Cluster I largest cluster comprised of one hundred and twelve parental lines (including 84 restorer lines, 24 maintainer lines and 4 A lines), was distantly place from cluster VI (one maintainer line DRR 3B) followed by cluster II (11A lines) and cluster III (one restorer lines NPT70 x OR1045 x R296). Cluster II consisted of eleven A lines. The highest inter cluster distance found from cluster III followed by cluster IV and cluster I. The restorer line NPT70 x OR1045 x R296 was grouped into cluster III. Cluster III was distantly placed from cluster IV followedby cluster II and cluster I. Cluster IV consisted of maintainer line DRR 3B. Highest inter cluster distance of cluster IVfound with cluster III followed by cluster II and cluster I. The intra cluster distance in the entire five clusters was less, which indicated that the genotypes within the same cluster were closely related. All the characters under study contributed to the divergence. It indicates that these parameters can contribute more for yield.
