An intensive roving survey was conducted for the occurrence of R. similis and Fusarium wilt complex in banana in eight Southern districts of Karnataka during 2011–12. The prevalence of the wilt incidence ranged from 0 to 45.81 per cent. Among the 20 taluks surveyed, maximum wilt complex was recorded in Sorba taluk (25.70%) of Shimoga district. the maximum wilt was prevailed in Shimoga district with 23.60 per cent wilt followed by Mysore (17.72%) and Davanagere districts (15.32%). The wilt was highest in Rasabale (21.94%) and Yalakki Bale (17.23%) grown in red soils (21.49%) and least in lateritic soils (7.94%) with a furrow (19.62%) and trench (19.01%) methods of irrigation. There was a significant moderate positive correlation between R. similis and Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense.
