Abstract

Colloidal Gold nanoparticles have received much attention due to their unique optical and electronic properties which are dependent on their shape and size. The present study was to investigate the reduction of Tetrahydrochloroauric acid (HAuCl4),by an ascorbic acid derived reducing agent such as Celin drug. These colloidal gold particles exhibited strong Surface Plasmon Resonance band (SPR) at 530nm under UV-Vis spectroscopy and the Particle size distribution was 58.7nm in the colloidal solution. The colloidal gold particles were spherical in shape and uniform distribution in the aqueous solution.
