Agriculture Assistant is the important link in the transfer of technology from research stations to the farmers field. The role of Agriculture Assistant is to educate, train and persuade farmers to adopt new idea and use improved practices. There are scant resources, inadequate infrastructure, mass literacy and government inability to cope with the needs and aspiration of the people. In such a situation it is appropriate to go ahead with the effective programmes of social and economic development with the help of the Agriculture Assistant. The problems faced by majority of Agriculture Assistant were lack of information on improved technology within time, inadequate lodging and boarding facilities during the period of training, training given is not according to the local needs and lack of free and informal communication amongst the staff in technology transfer work. Based on the salient findings of the study and suggestions of the Agriculture Assistant, it is implied that the training organizing institutions and State Department of Agriculture should pay more attention on problems of Agriculture Assistants. They should arrange maximum training classes, demonstrations, group discussions, using Audio-Visual aids.
