The investigation was conducted to study the effectiveness of 12 arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi on the aromatic plant rosemary. Rosemary plants raised in presence of most of the AM fungi in polythene bags showed anincrease in plant growth (Shoot length, number of leaves and biomass) and root parameters over those grown in the absence of soil inoculation with AM fungi. The extent of growth and root biomass varied with the AM fungi used. Based on the plant growth and root biomass per plant, Glomus monosporum was found to be the best AM symbiont for inoculating Rosmarinus officinalis, the next being Sclerocystis dusii.
