A field experiment was conducted during kharif and rabi 2013 to study the effect of weed and nutrient management practices integrated with two different sources of nitrogen on growth, yield and economics of transplanted rice-rice cropping system. The experimental results revealed that application of PE butachlor 0.75 kg/ha + 2,4-DEE 0.4 kg/ha along with 75% inorganic nitrogen + 25% organic nitrogen (K)/pretilachlor 0.75 kg/ha + 2,4-DEE 0.4 kg/ha along with 100% inorganic nitrogen (R) (W3N2) recorded taller plants with higher dry matter production by rice crop in both kharif and rabi 2013. Yield attributes viz., productive tillers/m2 and 1000 grain weight and yield were also higher in the same treatment W3N2. Application of PE butachlor 0.75 kg/ha + 2,4-DEE along with 75% inorganic nitrogen +25% organic nitrogen (K)/pretilachlor 0.75 kg/ha + 2,4-DEE along with 100% inorganic nitrogen (R) (W3N2) gave higher net return during both seasons. Higher B:C ratio was recorded in same treatment W3N2 during rabi 2013, whereas in kharif season, application of butachlor + 2,4-DEE (K)/pretilachlor + 2,4-DEE (R) along with 100% I.N(K &R)(W3N1) recorded higher B:C ratio.
