Selection for grain yield under drought governed by QTLs is an efficient criterion for improving the drought tolerance of rice. The study was undertaken to carry out the genetic analysis coupled with identification of QTLs for traits related to drought tolerance. In rice sixty lines of F3 segregating population derived from a cross between MTU1010 and IR86931-B-6 were evaluated under both irrigated and rain out shelter (ROS) condition kharif 2012 at Raipur. 150 SSR and HvSSR primers were screened for detecting parental polymorphism, out of which 45 showed polymorphism. 37 SSR and 8 HvSSR markers were further used genotyping the population. QTLs for Days to flowering, Tillers/plant, Plant height, Panicle length and Effective tiller/plants were identified and QTL for grain yield were identified in chromosome 6 under irrigated and 2, 7, 8, and 11 chromosome under drought (ROS 1st) condition.
