A field experiment was carried out during kharif season of 2009 to determine the effect of inorganic fertilizers, organic manure and biofertilizer on growth, yield and uptake by mungbean (Vigna radiata L.). Integrated application of 50% RDF+2.5 t FYM + Rhizobium +PSB recorded significantly maximum seed yield (987.12 kgha−1), straw yield (3212.87 kgha−1), more nutrient uptake in grain and straw of mungbean, consequently resulted maximum gross return (33500), net return (19578) and benefit: cost ratio(2.41),followed by 100% RDF+Rhizobium+PSB (972.12 kgha−1).This treatment produces 55.19%, 43.07%, 30.35% and 25.61% more seed yield and 24.73%, 15.83%, 10.37% and 9.51% more harvest index than no seed treatments i.e., T1 (2.5 t FYM+No seed treatment T5 (5 t FYM+No seed treatment), T9 (100% RDF+No seed treatment), and T13 (50% RDF+2.5 t FYM+No seed treatment). Thus, combined application of inorganic fertilizer, manure and biofertilizer is found to be the best for higher productivity and profitability of mungbean cultivation in custard apple based agri-horti system under rainfed condition.
