Abstract

Blast [Pyricularia grisea (Cooke) Sacc.] of finger millet has an adverse effect on various growth parameters of infected plant. Losses were found in all the growth parameters. Reduction in various growth parameters viz., plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, 1000 grain weight, fingers length, number of fingers and grain weight per plant were 3.20, 11.82, 39.36, 40.13, 11.40, 18.22, and 35.97 per cent, respectively. Maximum loss was found in 1000 grain weight (40.13%).
