Field experiment was conducted at Kittur Rani Channamma College of Horticulture, Arabhavi, Gokak Taluk, Belgaum district of Karnataka state during the rabi season of the year 2011–2012 to study the effect of organic and inorganic sources of nitrogen on yield and benefit cost ratio of garlic (Allium sativum L.) cv. Vannur Local. Significant differences were observed among different treatments with reference to bulb yield. Significantly highest bulb yield (5.36t/ha) was recorded in T8 (100% RDN through vermicompost). The highest benefit cost ratio of 1:2.79 was recorded in T9 (100% RDF) and least benefit costratio was recorded in T7 (1:1.64).
