The present studies entitled “Biorational management of sucking pests of cowpea Vigna sinensis L.” was undertaken on the farm of Agricultural Entomology Section, College of Agriculture, Nagpur during kharif season of 2012–2013. Among the chemical insecticides highest per cent reduction of population over the control of sucking pestswere observedin Imidacloprid 17.8 SL@ 0.005% i.e. Aphids– 76.83%, Thrips-76.37% and Jassids – 73.44% and lowest were observed in Difenthiuron 50 WP 1.2 g−1 i.e. Aphids 73.95%, Thrips 72.63% and Jassids –70.08%. Whereas, among the bio pesticides highest per cent reduction of population of sucking pestswere observedin Neemoil @ 1% i.e. Aphids – 64.84%, Thrips - 59.60% and Jassids – 57.89% and lowest were observed in Verticillium lecanii 109 cfu ml−1 i.e. Aphids 54.35%, Thrips-46.61% and Jassids – 41.83%. Among the chemical insecticides highest yield over control was observed in Imidacloprid i.e. 45.27 q/ha, and the lowest were observed in Difenthiuron i.e. 41.95 q/ha, among the bio pesticides highest yield over control was observed in Neem oil 38.59 q/ha and lowest increase over the control observed in Verticillium lecanii i.e. 30.03 q/ha.
