Abstract

Laboratory experiments conductedto study the extraction pattern of Humicacid, Fulvic acid and Humin obtained from sphagnum peat by using 0.2N KOH, 0.2N NaOH,0.2N Na4P2O7 and 0.2NNa2CO3 alkali extractants at 1:100 ratio of peat and extractant concentration. The treatment having 0.2N NaOH and 0.2N KOH extracted 1.9% and 1.5% humic acid which are onparand significantly highest compared to other extractants. Regarding the fulvicacid extraction pattern the treatment having 0.2N NaOH extracted 7% from the source component, which is considered as the maximum. The maximum amount of humin at 12.6% from the source was extracted by 0.2N KOH.
