The power crisis resulted due to a huge gap between the demand and supply lead to the huge deterioration of the growth of small and medium scale enterprises and agriculturalists. Hence the Tamil Nadu government plans to give a big thrust to solar power with its energize plans and policies. The Implementation of Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) by the ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE), the Government of India (GOI), the awareness of Solar energy among the people of the state has been increasing which is attracting some of the multinational companies also to invest in Tamil Nadu in Solar PV industry. This project aims to identify commercially viable application of Solar Photovoltaic in different manufacturing sectors in Tamil Nadu. The top three manufacturing sectors have been identified and the potential analysis of solar photovoltaics has been analyzed.
