Anthracnose disease of chilli caused by Colletotrichum capsici is one of the worst and most destructive disease causes severe losses both in quality and quantity of the produce. The present study was carried out to test the efficacy of different plant extracts, systemic, non-systemic and compound (systemic + non-systemic) fungicides tested as seed treatment @ 10 ml/kg seed, 2 g/kg, 3 g/kg and 2.5 g/kg seed, respectively against pathogenic isolate I-13 (C. capsici) under in vivo condition. Among the four effective phyto-extracts, Datura stramonium extract seed treatment @ 10 ml/kg seed gave maximum seed germination (85.28%), reduced pre-and post-emergence mortality (14.59% and 9.64%, respectively) and highest root (11.57 cm) and shoot length (9.27 cm) under in vivo condition. Among eight different systemic, non-systemic and compound (systemic + non-systemic) fungicides, carbendazim seed treatment @ 2 g/kg seed gave maximum seed germination (90.10%), reduced pre-and post-emergence mortality (9.96% and 2.72%, respectively) and increased root (13.77 cm) and shoot length (21.03 cm) followed by mancozeb @ 3 g/kg seed and carbendazim + mancozeb @ 2.5 g/kg seed.
