Abstract

The experiment was carried out to study the association among yield and its contributing traits and their mode of direct and indirect effect on grain yield among fifteen genotypes of lentil. In present study, genotypic correlation was observed higher than phenotypic correlation for all studied characters. Biological yield/plant, number of primary branches/plant, number of secondary branches/plant and number of pods/plant, had positive and significant correlation with grain yield/plant. Path co-efficient analysis revealed that number of pods/plant, number of secondary branches/plant and days to 50% flowering had high positive and direct effect on grain yield/plant.
