Studies on Determining the Effective Dosage in Establishing Significant Mortality of Banana Pseudostem Weevil, Odoiporous longicollis Olivier by Endophytic Fungus Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo)

Entomopathogenic fungus has great potential for use against the banana pseudostem weevil, Odoiporous longicollis. The weevil mortality highest by using highest dosage of B. bassiana inoculation and decreases in case of lower dosage. In highest dosage (1×10¹⁰, 1×10⁹, 1×10⁸spore/ml) the weevil mortality was (75.08%, 72.05%, 65.09%). In case of 1×10⁷ and 1×10⁶ spore/ml, the weevil mortality was only 45.59 and 39.33 per cent. This is due to the toxicity of Beauveria bassiana and increases the mortality of O.longicollis by increasing the conidial dosage and decreased in case of lower dosage of B. bassiana.
