Evaluation of Fungal Pathogen, Fusarium semitectum Berk. and Ravenel against Okra Leafhopper, Amrasca biguttula biguttula Ishida under Laboratory and Greenhouse Conditions

Abstract

Efficacy of fungal pathogen, Fusarium semitectum Berk. and Ravenel was evaluated against okra leafhopper, Amrasca biguttula biguttula Ishida under laboratory and greenhouse conditions at the Department of Entomology, College of Agriculture, Shimoga, India. The results showed that the highest mortality of 83.34 and 75.21 per cent nymphs and adults, respectively was recorded at 3.60 x 109 spores per ml of F. semitectum. The earlier instars were more susceptible to fungal infection than the later stages. Among the seven treatments evaluated under greenhouse conditions, the combination of F. semitectum at 3.60 x 109 spores per ml + dimethoate 0.03 per cent recorded the highest mortality of 68.06 per cent whereas dimethoate alone recorded the mortality of 87.95 per cent.
