Abstract

The influence of biofertilizer inoculation, viz. Azotobacter chroococcum and Azospirillum lipoferum with different levels of nitrogen along with different methods of application on Brinjal (Solanum melongena L.) crop cv GOB-1 was tested at agricultural field (22°35’ N; 72°55’E) located at an elevation of 45.1 meters MSL to explore the possibility of better biofertilizer response and better soil health. The experiment was laidout in Randomized Block Design with 3 factors included 4 different level of biofertilizers and 2 different levels of nitrogen and 2 methods for biofertilizer applications, respectively. The results revealed significant improvement in yield attributes such as; fruit length (15.64 cm), fruit girth (24.14 cm), numbers of fruit plant−1(20.48), average fruit weight (178.56 gm) and total fruit yield (619.03 q ha−1) were observed in the plots receiving treatment I2. It was also noted that I2 was giving best results when combined with M2 and N1.
