Correlation Coefficient between Soil Properties and Nutrient Uptake without Potassium by Kharif Brinjal at Initiation of Flowering.

Abstract

The brinjal crop was harvested at initiation of flowering. The initial soil analysis for physico-chemical properties of the soils were determined. The concentration and uptake of nutrients (N, P, K, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu) by brinjal plant (Cv. Krishna hybrid) were determined at initiation of flowering. Correlation coefficient between initial soil chemical properties and nutrients uptake without K showed that, the soil potassium was significantly positively correlated with all nutrients uptake without potassium. The soil electrical conductivity and soil organic carbon was positively correlated to all nutrients uptake by brinjal plant. The soil nitrogen was positively correlated to plant N, K, Mn uptake and negatively correlated to plant P, Fe, Zn, Cu uptake. The soil phosphorus was positively correlated to plant K, Mn, Zn uptake and significantly positively correlated to plant N (0.549*), P (0.480*), Fe (0.520*), Cu (0.579*) uptake.
