Effect of Irrigation Scheduling (IW: CPE Ratio) and Nitrogen on Yield and Economics of Rajma (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) under Middle Gujarat Conditions

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during rabi season of the year 2012–13. It consisted of twelve treatment combinations comparing of four irrigation scheduling (0.6, 0.8, 1.0 IW: CPE ratio and Irrigation at branching, flowering, pod development and seed formation stages) three levels of nitrogen (80, 120 and 160 kg N ha−1). The experiment was conducted in split plot design and it was replicated four times. Higher values of growth characters, yield attributes, seed and straw yield were recorded under treatment I3 (1.0 IW: CPE) and N2 (120 kg N ha−1). The maximum net realization of ‘ 26876 ha−1 and B: C ratio 1.22 was recorded at 1.0 IW: CPE ratio. The treatment combination I3N2 produced significantly higher seed yield (1406 kg ha−1).
