Millets production assumes greater importance in recent days of agriculture as it pave way to lead a healthy life among the people. Accordingly, the study was conducted in different PPP models functioning in Dharmapuri and Tiruvannamalai districts of Tamil Nadu. The PPP models were Farmer Producer Company, Contract Farming, Farmers society and others. From each model, 60 farmers were selected and inothers category there were 20 farmers. Thus, totally 200 farmers were constituted as respondents for the study. Data were collected using well-structured interview schedule and focused group discussion method. The collected data were analysed using percentage analysis. The analysis of constraints perceived by the farmers in different PPP models revealed that, poor quality of the inputs, lack of awareness about the innovation and lack of skill in utilizing the machineries for harvesting were the major constraintsin field and technological level. At the functional level, lack of adequate financial support from govt./other agencies, lack of coordination from the peer farmers and the risk of getting exploitedby the fellow partners were the major constraints perceived by the respondents. The present study will enable the extension functionaries to revamp their future strategies which inturn promote adoption of PPP models by overcoming bottlenecks in the millet production.
