An experiment was conducted at Junagadh during rabi season of 2012–13 to find out the effect of herbicide mixture and phytotoxic effect of herbicide on onion crop. Application of pendimethalin @ 0.900 kg ha−1 as PE followed by imazethapyr @ 0.050 kg ha−1 as POE at 45 DAT significantly reduced the population of weeds and higher weed control efficiency after weed free check followed by combined spray of oxyfluorfen @ 0.240 kg ha−1 and propaquizafop @ 0.090 kg ha−1 as PE & second spray as POE at 45 DAT. However, this treatment has higher weed index and lower bulb yield over rest of the treatments. Application of imazethapyr @ 0.050 kg ha−1 as POE showed up to 80% phytotoxic effect on onion. The lowest weed index and the highest bulb yield was obtained under combined spray of oxyfluorfen @ 0.240 kg ha−1 and propaquizafop @ 0.090 kg ha−1 as PE & second spray as POE at 45 DAT after weed free.
