To take observations for the effect of seed treatment with colchicine on yield and its related characteristics in pigeonpea Cajanus cajan (L.) Millspaugh, colchicine treated seed of three genotypes viz. GT-1, GT-100, GT-103 were choosen. These seed were treated with different concentration of colchicine i.e. 0%, 0.02%, 0.04%, 0.08% solution for different time duration (2h,4h,8h). The experiment was conducted at Centre of Excellence for research on pulses, S.D. agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar, Gujarat. Colchicine treated as well as normal pigeonpea seed were sown in field on 17 July 2013 in a two-row plot of 4 m length spaced at 60 cm. The standard agronomical practices were followed to raise the plants under favorable field conditions. A set of 3 genotypes comprising 30 combination of different colchicine concentration for different time duration were replicated three times. The control and treated seeds were sown in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications during Kharif, 2013.
