Utilization of Cladophora Aquatic Plant as Phytoremediation for Treatment of Effluent

Abstract

Aquatic plants Cladophora was grown for phytoremediation treatment in range 0 (Control), 25, 50, 75 and 100 percent effluent. Maximum value at 50% effluent for fresh matter yield and chlorophyll in Cladophora were observed in both 15 and 30 days growth and for dry matter yield of 15 days growth while at 75% effluent maximum value for dry matter yield was observed in 30 days growth of Cladophora. Over all study was concluded that aquatic plants were beneficial as bioremediation treatment of effluent before using for gardening purpose and irrigation of crop plants.
