Abstract

Fifty genotypes of fenugreek were evaluated for grain yield and related morphological characters. The branches per plant, pods per plant, biological yield per plant and harvest index had positive and significant correlation with seed yield per plant. Path coefficient analysis revealed that biological yield per plant had high positive direct effect on seed yield per plant followed by harvest index, pods per plant, seeds per pod and days to fifty percent flowering. Hence these traits may be considered as selection indices for grain yield.
