Abstract

The biology of the eriophyid mite, Aceriajasmine, Aceria mangiferae and Aceria mori was studied in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University-Coimbatore in the year 2013. It has a simple biology, with females and males produced throughout the year. In the highest mean egg period was recorded in Mango (2.6 days) followed by jasmine (2.4 days). The lowest mean larval period was recorded in mulberry (2.6 days). In second instar the lowest mean maximum larval period was 3.1 days in mulberry, while the highest mean maximum period was 3.7 days in jasmine. The mean total development period in days was highest in jasmine (4.6 days) followed by mango bud mite (4.4. days). The lowest oviposition period was recorded in mango (2.8)days. The highest and lowest adult longivity was recorded in mulberry (9.5) and mango (5.9), respectively. The total life span of eriophyid mite was highest recorded in jasmine (25.9). It was ranged from 17.3 to 25.9 days.
