Performance of Cowpea Genotypes in Northern Dry Zone of Karnataka in Summerseason

Abstract

Field experiment was conducted during summerseason of 2012–13 to Study the performance of cowpea genotypes (viz KBC-2, KM-5, IT-38956-1 and C-152) in Northern Dry Zone of Karnataka in summerseasonat Farmer's field Mattihal village of Basavan Bagewaditaluk in Bijapur district. The results revealed that among the cowpeagenotypes IT-38956-1 recorded significantly higher grain yield (1397 kg ha−1), gross returns (44586 Rs ha−1), net returns (27723Rs ha−1) and B: C(2.95) ratio compared to rest of the treatments.
