A pot experiment was conducted at the Deptt. of Soil science and Agril. chemistry, B.A. College of Agriculture, AAU, Anand during summer season of 2013 to study the effect of different levels of Cadmium and FYM on yield and nutrient uptake by fodder maize grown in texturally different soil. Treatments were comprised of five level of Cd (0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 and 10.0 ppm) applied as 3CdSO4. 7H2O and two levels of FYM (0 and 10tha−1) applied on two types of soil (Loamy sand and Clayey soils). Result revealed that with increasing doses of Cd, the yield and nutrient uptake by plant parts were reduced but application of FYM reduced toxicity of Cd and increased yield and nutrient uptake by maize plant parts. Clayey soil produced higher yield and nutrient uptake as compared to loamy sand soil.
