Cost of Production of Amaranthus in Banakantha District of North Gujarat

Abstract

Cost of production was calculated that the average cost of cultivation and net income per hectare of amaranthus crop was estimated Rs.32171 and Rs.21927, respectively for the year 2013–2014. The cost of cultivation of amaranthus for large farmers was higher as compared to medium and small size farmers because 49.21 per cent to total cost of cultivation was contributed by major input like human labour, bullock labour and tractor charges and fertilizer, which was 38.09, 5.40 and 5.72 per cent, respectively. The cost of cultivation for large size group of farmers was estimated Rs.32548, per hector.
