The present investigation on half diallel analysis was conducted in okra to study the magnitude of heterosis in okra for fifteen plant characters including fruit yield per plant and its component characters. The experimental material comprising of seven genetically diverse parental lines and their twenty one hybrids (excluding reciprocals) were planted in randomized block design with three replications during summer-2013 at the Regional Horticultural Research Station, ASPEE College of Horticulture and Forestry, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat. The F1 hybrids, GAO-5 X AOL-09-02, AOL-09-17 XAOL-09-02 & GAO-5 XAOL-09-17 recorded high degree of standard heterosis for yield and its contributing traits. High estimates of heterosis obtained in hybrid combinations revealed considerable genetic divergence among the parental lines.
